Detroit 2020 interviewed Rock Nation and Music Capitol Records about their latest single release “Turn it Around” a.k.a. “The Detroit Song”. The interview focused on the inspiration behind the piece and what the collaboration is doing to highlight positivity in Detroit. The interview also covered the 5 Dreams Project and what it represents for its members and so many others.
The Detroit Song will be featured in a television commercial on WXYZ-TV Channel 7 as Detroit 2020′s new anthem and part of its spring/summer marketing campaign. The D2020 commercial, which features Rock Nation and M.C.R. hip hop artist Dillon, was shot on the rooftop of Cobo Hall. It is scheduled to start airing on channel 7 in April. An extensive D2020 interview with Rock Nation and the members of the 5 Dream Project will air on Detroit 2020 April 17, 2012. The interview was hosted by the UDetroit Cafe in downtown Detroit.
The campaign kicks off Tuesday morning April 17 at 6:00am on WXYZ-TV Channel 7, and continues with a special newscast at 12 noon, on which we will appear in a live interview, Dillon Cedric Berry, Douglas Mersier, James Witcher, Ozie Cargile, and DeJaughn Murphy. Highlights will also appear on the 5:00 pm and 7pm News.
